The installation of our PowerWulf Cluster (and upgrade) was literally plug and play. PSSC Labs had all our requirements and configured the cluster prior to shipping. The cluster was ready to begin computations as we powered up.

It was obvious for us to combine our expertise on high-performance bioinformatics algorithms and user-friendly software, with PSSC Labs' extensive experience in cluster solutions for the life science industry. High performance computing is essential for designing and supporting our Computational Fluid Dynamics and other programs, and 64-bit AMD Opteron™ processor-based clusters help us to reduce development time and improve turnaround for support issues. AMD's 64-bit processor technology gives us the ability to support large computational models which demand high performance, large memory addressability, and economical space, power, and cooling requirements. In addition, HyperTransport™ technology has enabled us to link two motherboards together to create a 16-core stand-alone system with128GB of RAM for a fast and highly efficient pre-processing system.

I interviewed six companies. In terms of pricing PSSC was competitive with the others, but more importantly I had some very positive interactions with them - I felt they were the most honest and sensitive in addressing our needs. They did not try to push unnecessary technology or products on us, but tried to best address our needs and wants. They were also very accommodating to all changes and developments of our system, and very prompt in responding. In addition, two others in our department recommended them and said they really appreciated PSSC's support. I can also attest to their support, as three different people from PSSC continued to follow up with us and get us whatever parts or info that we needed to ensure that our cluster was fully operational. The total cost of ownership after delivery is very low. I have been very happy with the quality of the hardware and the completeness of PSSC Labs CBeST software. Our productivity has been great with these clusters, in fact the only time the PSSC Labs Clusters are not running is when we have a power shutdown for the building. The administration tasks are very small which is excellent because we have limited system administration resources. One of the reasons for obtaining the setup from PSSC Labs was to have well tested and working components out of the box. So far, things have been working as expected. The time needed is just a little bit less than if I were to build the machine myself.
