My research at Northwestern University involves developing and applying a variety of theoretical methodologies to study the thermodynamic, structural and dynamics of biointerphases with applications to biomaterials and drug delivery systems. This research requires large amounts of processing power and run times can vary from several hours to several weeks. It is extremely important that the computation engine we use is both high performance and extremely stable.
I began working with PSSC Labs during my tenure at Purdue University. From my first interaction I could tell they were different from other computer vendors. Janice Lesser listened carefully to my computing needs and configured a turn key solution she felt would satisfy my needs. The System arrived and worked as promised out of the box. Overall system performance was even greater than I anticipated. I used the original system for over three years and did not have a single hardware failure that resulted in system downtime. All of the cluster management software included in their CBeST package was preinstalled and preconfigured. Running my application was as simple as just loading it on top of their software stack. If there were issues I encountered with any aspects of the system, the technicians responded quickly and professionally.
When I moved my research group to Northwestern University I was again in need of a compute engine. This time I ordered a much larger cluster system from them. Janice Lesser again made sure to design a system that has exceeded my computation needs and runs with near 100% uptime. Their CBeST software allowed me the flexibility to grow and expand the cluster over time. My current cluster has doubled in size since my original purchase and I would like to continue to expand the cluster as budget becomes available.
They truly are a company that cares about my work and overall satisfaction. I have not found that to be the case with many other computer companies including the largest Tier 1 vendors. Working with them, a very focused high performance solution provider, in my opinion is the best option. They are the only computer company I have found that goes above and beyond to deliver the highest performance, most reliable and best supported solution. I look forward to continuing working with them as my computing needs grow and I would recommend anyone strongly consider their solutions. I know several other groups at Northwestern University have purchased their clusters with the same level of satisfaction.
